Tip to Download Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft

Tip to Download Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft

If you want to install from fresh or upgrade your machine to Windows 10, then you need to install the Windows Media Creation Tool to download Windows 10. The tool provided by Microsoft is optimized for downloading necessary files and is also capable of creating a bootable disk, upgrading your machine and even creatingWindows 10 ISO for future usage. The only problem with it is that it doesn’t support pause and resume, and not everyone has the fastest Internet connection to download the massive 3GB file in one go.
If you can download Windows 10 ISO directly, then you can pause and resume as needed, or even download the large file in parts. Microsoft doesn’t provide a direct link to download the ISO, but you can trick Microsoft servers to give you the direct download link to Windows 10 ISO. Here’s how.
Note: this article assumes that you are using Windows on your computer.
Whenever you try to download Windows 10 ISO, the Microsoft server automatically detects your browser and the OS you are on. If you are on Windows 7 or above, then you are automatically redirected to download the Media Creation Tool. So, the trick to direct download Windows 10 ISO is that you have to trick Microsoft servers to think that you are not using Windows 7 or above.
To start, we are going to use the Chrome browser with the User Agent Switcher for Chrome installed and enabled. You can install it like any other Chrome extension.

After installing the extension, click on it and then select the option “Windows Phone.” You can also select your User Agent as iOS or Android, but Windows Phone worked best for me. When I used the other User Agents, all I got was a blank page when I visited the Microsoft site.

Select the one and only option “Windows Phone 8.” This action will instantly spoof your browser agent.

Head over to this special Windows 10 ISO download page. Please note the URL will be automatically redirected if you are using a normal browser with Windows 7 or above.
The above URL will take you to the “Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File)” page. Scroll down and select “Windows 10” from the drop-down menu and click on the “Confirm” button. You don’t have to select the Home or Pro editions, as the download link is applicable to both.

After validating your request, the page asks you to select a language. Simply select the language from the drop-down menu and click on the “Confirm” button. In my case, I’m selecting my language as “English International.”

The above action will give you the direct download links for both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Click on the one you want, and the download will start immediately.

One thing to keep in mind is that the download links are only valid for twenty-four hours. So make sure that you complete your download within that time limit. Of course, if you are using some sort of download manager, then you might be able to resume the download even after twenty-four hours by changing the download link (I haven’t tested it yet).
Moreover, if you are using an operating system that is anything other than the desktop version of Windows (or running Linux virtual machine in Windows), then you don’t need to spoof anything. Just visit the above download page URL, and you can download the ISO file.
Do comment below sharing your thoughts and experiences about using the above method to direct download Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft.
