Solve Math Equation Easily Using Mobile Camera With PhotoMath App

Solving a math equation could be a difficult task, especially when you do not have a calculator near you. If this happens, you can make use of your Android or iOS running device to solve Math problems without the phone’s calculator. Confused?  There’s a free Android app called PhotoMath that can solve problems on the go.

PhotoMath is the world’s first smart camera calculator app, offered by MicroBlink Ltd. It allows you to take a picture of a math equation with the phone’s camera. When a picture has been snapped, the app will instantly give you the answer along with systematic instructions for solving it.

PhotoMath has more than 5 million Android users around the globe. This app is available free on the Play Store and works well with mobile devices that run on Android 4.1 or newer versions.

If your device is compatible with the app, you can install its 1.1.6 version, which comes with an APK file size of 6.75 MB. When installed, it employs a total storage space of 13.63 MB and for better performance, it uses an average 6.4 MB to maximum 63 MB of RAM.

The user interface (UI) of this app is neat, which makes it easier for the user to handle it. On the main screen of the app, you will see three buttons: Flash, Recent Results, and Help. The Flash button allows you to turn on the LED on your phone when you want to scan something in low lighting conditions. Recent Results show your recent scans with results and solving steps. The Help button allows you to retake the intro tutorial of PhotoMath app and connect with the help desk for additional information.

Start the app and follow below mentioned steps to learn how PhotoMath works:

Step 1: Write down an equation on a paper and place it inside the frame interface of the app by focusing the camera on the equation. To adjust the shape and size of the frame, just swipe your fingers across the screen.

Step 2: PhotoMath app takes moments for solving an equation. When it does so, it will display the result right on the screen in a white rectangular box.

Step 3: To get steps and detailed explanation of how to solve the equation, tap on recent results.

As of now, the PhotoMath app supports basic arithmetic, fractions, decimal numbers, linear equations, and numerous logarithm functions. Moreover, the app works well only with a printed problem, as it does not have support for any handwritten texts.

PhotoMath app is a very useful tool, especially when you are having a hard time with Math. The app works well and is easy-to-use. It does lack some features, but in coming time, the app will support more Math and get better through updates.

Advantage:

It can solve Math problems faster

Dis-advantage:

It does not understand handwritten formulas yet.
The app has no support for some complex expressions yet.
